ABOUT
PIECES
PIECES was founded in 2009 by three students of the University of St. Gallen within the SIM Master’s program. After volunteering in Isla Ometepe in Nicaragua to teach English, they were so inspired that they decided to turn their experience into the creation of PIECES as an NGO. Since then, PIECES has greatly evolved and is organized by a board of eight, as well as 30+ active members. The advisory board includes the founding members and other dedicated individuals to guide and support the organization at HSG.
OUR MISSION
We aim to improve the English proficiency of children in emerging countries, fostering core values that drive sustainable community development. By bridging cultural gaps, our efforts inspire both local students and volunteers to become leaders who create measurable global impact
OUR VISION
PIECES envisions a connected world that transcends borders to overcome global challenges such as educational inequality. We champion social sustainability by empowering students to become active problem-solvers who inspire lasting change, piece by piece.
